STORMIN' KENNELS was established in 2000. Beau is a 3rd Generation Coonhunter, and an avid hunter of
all game. Beau coonhunted with his father James, his uncle Ronnie and various family members and
friends of his father. As he grew older he started hunting with his Uncle and cousins. Rita grew up in a
hunting family, her father and both grandfathers hunted. Rita first started shooting a gun at the wee age of
5. She also got to hunt some but her father Don was a bird/rabbit hunter so what times she did get to go it
was rabbit hunting or an occasional squirrel hunt. In 1980 we met through friends and started dating in
September of 1980,We were married in 1983. Beau was still coonhunting with his dad and his cousin and
Rita never asked to go thinking how dumb is that chasing a dog chasing a coon in the dark, but never
complained about him going. Eventually Beau and his dad both quit for some time and started deer hunting
some in the late 1990's. Then quit out of the blue Beaus dad decided he would like to get back in the sport
of chasing coon and that's where we started. Beau went to try out a Redbone Male belonging to Rita's now
Best friend Tammy Wissinger. Beau told Rita she had to go and with some complaining she did. Well that
was the biggest mistake Beau has made in the last 25 years because that one night that first bawl on track
that first tree had Rita hooked all the way down to her bones. We started out with a female Walker who Rita
Show Championed she was a hunting machine,well mannered,female. Then there were two. The Walker
thing went on for a couple years. We then added a Bluetick male after Beau's dad passed away. James
hunted mainly curs or Blueticks as Beau was growing up. And Shi as we lovingly call the ol' guy reminded
him of one of his dad's old dogs. After that we started really looking at redbones and yes we went through
a plenty before we finally found what we wanted. That is where we are now breeding our own strain of
DUAL PURPOSE REDBONES and training the puppies with an ole Bluetick.
